Silent DVD?

I have built a very silent HTPC. You really need to put your ear next to the case to hear it at all. But one problem remains...the DVD drive.

Once the DVD drive starts spinning it is REALLY noicy.

Question;
* is it possible to set the max read speed on a DVD drive to 4x (reading)?

Anything else I can do to silent this drive?

Several apps can do this.

Try Nero DriveSpeed (free - google it).

Does Nero DriveSpeed allow setting read speed on DVDs? Most utilities I have found only limits reading CDs (even on DVD drives). What I mean is, if I insert a CD in my DVD I can set the speed but if I have a DVD in the DVD drive I cannot.

Like MAGIC SPEED from Samsung.

Sometimes one feels so stupid.... I did a search but on "DVD speed" but didn't get the aswers I was looking for. I should of course have read the stick first.
