CodeMonkey, I am not sure that I understand your query?

The terms "composite" and "component" refer to video only connections. Composite is a single RCA connector (usually colored yellow) and component is 3 RCA connectors colored red, blue and green. The sound is carried on completely separate connection/s.

I am guessing that you want to feed the sound from your soundcard to your TV's sound input?

In which case you just need a cable with a 3mm stereo phono plug on one end (to go into the line-out of your sound card), and probably 2 RCA (colored red and white) on the other end to go to the audio in of your TV?

Please feel free to ignore what I have just written if I have missed the point of your query...... :?

Hmmm.. Do you mean hving rca (round single plugs one channel each) on a new soundcard cabled to your tv?

If so an excellent soundcard is the Audiphile cards.
But, however it's not needed.

You can purchase a RCA->3.5mm cable to connect your existing soundcard to your tv-set.

Did I answer your question correctly?`

Excuse my bad english.
