Yes it is!!!

I'm thinking of cooling my cpu passively and using a quiet but fan-cooled PSU or as alternative using a quiet cpu-fan and a passive CPU.

Your tests are very appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Michael

I bought myself a Zalman ZM460-APS a month ago. There is a fan in it but this power supply is absolute qiet and it helps with the air flow in the case. I have a pasive CPU cooler so now the only thing I can hear is the HDD.

Hi Tomas!

What CPU are you using in the passive setup, and even more interesting; what passive cooler are you using ?

Hi

I have a Athlon 64 3000+ with a Sonic tower on top:
http://www.thermaltake.com/product/c...1/cl-p0071.asp

Now this CPU cooler is enormus so I do not recomend it in a smal HTPC box, but it keeps the CPU temp low whitout a fan.
