Question Tuner card selection assistance.

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone is able to confirm that the DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-E S2 works fine with MediaPortal. I have looked in the wiki for compatible cards and it isn't listed there, but I am also not sure how up to date it may be.

I am currently running 0.2.2.0 stable, but will consider taking the plunge into a SVN if that is what is needed to have this card work.

Haven't actually bought it yet though.
Am still considering which card to get. Thought a dual tuner would be good - and a PCI-e one to make use of the spare slots and save the PCI for other things.

Am happy to get a PCI one though if one comes highly recommended!
Currently looking at only PCI slot used is for a wireless card.

Thanks.

Hi Whatisk

i have been running the same card for about a month now on MP with svn, and it runs perfectly. i have it running FM radio too.
i had to get a updated capturecarddefintions.xml file from renura who runs the dntv website so hat MP would recognise the card.
If you need this file send let me know and i'll send it to you.

Thanks very much for the reply aidbish.
I've got all the bits for my new improved HTPC except for a tuner card.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
How are the channel changing times with the card? I've heard that some cards are faster than others (I've heard that Avermedia have quick times).
Did you get the DNTV Live! software as well or just the card? If you got the software, have you used it much and how do you find it? I was thinking of occasionally using the software to be able to watch TV picture-in-picture. Especially if there are 2 sporting events on at the same time
Would I need an SVN to use the card or just the updated file? I've been playing with the stable version and am happy with that (though haven't used it on the new system as yet).
Do you know if the manual for the card and/or software is available as a PDF anywhere. I'm one of those people that like to get them if possible before purchasing and have a read through to get a feel for it all. I sent an e-mail through about it, but haven't heard anything back as yet.

Thanks again!
