Question Is TV-out needed on Graphics card when you have a TV-card?

I got a new computer this week from Dell. Unfortunately, the onboard Nvidia card only had 1 VGA output, and I need a S-VHS out. I'm considering the following:

Buying a new PCI-E (I'm thinking cheap Asus with Geforce chip) graphics card
Or getting a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 MCE.

Now, can I use the Hauppage card to watch XViD, DVDs etc. from MediaPortal? Or do I have to use a graphics card to "get the best of both worlds"?

Thanks in advance

the hauppage TV card only allows the PC to receive a TV signal. it has nothing to do with watching DVDs, Divx etc etc

you still need to be able to connect your PC to the TV via the graphics card.

Hi, I didn't do a forum search before starting this thread. For that I'm sorry, but I myself have not made any threads about this.
