My System

Default Will this work?

Hello,

Well, as a new member to this community a have a question:

I have a Mini-ITX 800mhz. So while looking at the forum I saw people having trouble with these boards. To fix the problem I thought about buying a XFX FX5200 grafix card (nvidea) and a Hauppage 150MCE tuner to take the load off the CPU.

1) Will this work and how much ram should I add (now 256MB)?

2) I have a 150W PSU. Will this be enough power to handle my specs.?

Greetz,

T.

check this out http://www.team-mediaportal.com/requirements.html

but your system may run ok with lower specifications, as many people have said.

Good luck

Ray

Not for the fainthearted

Well 512Mb and a dx9 card like the fx5200 are a good start to get anything running at your system but have a look at my post in this thread:

I want to use the TV function and be able to play DVD's and MP3's. Will this system be able to handle that? With a grafix card (dx9.0) it should be possible ,no? I am also planning on using Windows XP Embedded so that will take some load off the CPU.

The Via CPUs arent even comparable to the same speed Intel/AMD processors so while TV *may* work, I very much doubt timeshifting will.

I will not be using timeshifting. The reason I want to use an epia board is because I want my mediacenter to be small. In the future I could buy an EPIA board with a different CPU (Pentium M or P4) but for now I would like to use the board I have. I very much like to know if it will be capable to handle my needs, otherwise I will be wasting a lot of money So if someone out there knows this or has been using a system like mine please post a reply, Thx!!

p.s.: Mediaportal rocks (on fast computers )
