Default does this hardware sound ok for MP

Compaq EVO 510 SFF desktop
256mb ram
40 gb hdd (may get upgraded)
Pioneer 107 DVD Writer
geforce 5200 low profile video card
Hauppauge PVR 150 TV Card

will be used for DVDs music, and maybe surfing the web ?

Its sufficient yes (you havent listed cpu, but google says they came with 1.7-2.4Ghz), ram could do with an increase though as 256mb is really the minimum for XP.

sorry yeah - its a Intel P4 2.4 ghz processor. so ram should be upgraded to 512mb or 1gb?

also whats the best program to use to get the tv listings for nz ? is "xmltvnz" ok or do you have to use xmltv to get them ?

cause i tried just using the listing.xml from the orcon website and it doesnt like it for some reason.

If you go to 512 MB of RAM your system will run faster under XP. Over that and you don't get any more speed. No need to spend more money unless you have a game or something that requires it.
