| Portal Member | My brother in law has asked me to build him an HTPC using leftover parts from his/his wife's old machines, along with some new parts obviously. He's a little more concerned with what problems we may face with using a Dvico Fusion5 RT Gold with MediaPortal? We are located on the east coast US, and will most likely be using the zap2it plugin as I do here. My questions are: *Do I need to setup two lineups for him?(digital and analog) *Can we even setup the Fusion as both analog and digital? not for concurrent use, but to be able to just switch seamlessly from SD to HD within the tv2 module? *If so, what are the limitations to analog/digital recording using this card? (basically wondering if I can set the analog to dvr-ms and have HD set for .tp stream.) Most of the rest I have down pretty well from my machines, I just have no experience with this card so, I figured I'd ask you guys. I'll post specs below, if you see anything horrid with the setup(conflicting hardware, blah), please let me know. Barton Athlon XP 2500+ mobile(nice and cool) NF7-M motherboard, onboard sound with optical out(hope to use this within MP) 1G Mushkin pc 3200 value ram(good track record on these so far) bfg 6800oc agp 8x using DVI or DVI to HDMI, not sure yet with his new tv WD 80g sata, Seagate 500G sata3 (os/storage...respectively) Eagle Tech ION case with VFD LCD 450w p/s, and MCE remote(will the dvico MCE remote work with the receiver on this? anyone?) RF keyboard w/ built in trackball - 10m range samsung 18x dvd burner(w/o lightscribe) I believe the panel he's hoping for is the Olevia 332H monitor, basic but nice enough for HD, this is all on a budget USES: * tv recording - both analog and HD - his cable box can serve as his viewing tuner he says, so this frees up system resources unless viewing HD(his current box is only standard def digital), but he hopes to upgrade to fibre optic tv service soon when approved and rolled out. * Movie viewing - both on DVD and file form * TV series * Music - both mp3/ogg, and CD, etc * Net Radio * My Trailers * MSN check on email while viewing * skype? not sure how useful it is for them * Picture viewing/storage that's pretty much it, thanks for you help ahead of time, it should be a fun build, if not downright frustrating hehe m0deth ![]()

Country: | From my experience, multiple lineups with Zap2it are not supported. It is best to choose one lineup and use a second guide supplier if more than one is required. Not sure about the card but an OTA lineup should provide both analog and digital with Zap2it.
