Default Sufficient for streaming media server, including HD?

Hey all. Great forum, I have been reading a lot the past few days. Very excited about installing and starting to play with MP.

Here's my scenario. My new gaming rig has left me with the following system I want to allocate for a streaming media/file server.

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo (on-board raid)
AMD Athalon 64 3200
2x 512 333mhz DDR
2x 350mb SATA (raid 0)

Goal:
My overall goal is to have 3-4 MP clients (desktops and set-tops) throughout the house that connect to this server as a media source hub. Ill be serving the usual.. music, tv and archived dvd rips.

I want to run Mp's TV Engine on the server (which will have multiple tuner cards installed, types TBD) allowing clients to schedule and playback from the server. My main tuner sources are DishSatellite and OTA QAM.

So, will this hardware setup be able to manage that environment ... or should I bump up the processor to a dual core AMD and add some memory? I know I need beefy client side hardware to handle HD streams, but does that have any bearing on the server hardware?

Ill be running XP Pro, and the only major services running on the box would be like Apache, MySQL, PHP, and a few other small things. Nothin' major.

Thanks!

Default

only thing you need cpu power for is the multiple tv card config.
i'm using an old 500mhz 512mb file-server
it rarely uses more then 60% cpu.
Just to indicate you've got more than enough power for your planned config

You should be concerned 2ndly about your network? are these machines gonna be 10/100? I had a nightmare with wireless trying to serve media fast enough. I hardwired and have 5 machines all running the same movie from the server with no problem. With Wireless, "G" and "Super G" it couldn't handle more than 1.
