Default Touchdisplays

Hi, i´m thinging of buying Cooltec 3000 with that nice touchdisplay, and together with mediaportal become my new htpc. Is there any options to enable in mediaportal that makes it more suitable for touchdisplays? if not, can you make it so?

Nizze,

Why use a touchscreen if you can control MP from you chair with a remote?

Hi

It is because my only screen today is my projector and i don´t want to start it up just to navigate a cd or some radio stations.

Nothing realy that helps.

You will unfortunately find you will need to reduce your PJ resolution to that of the touchscren for this to work.

This is a display driver restriction as there isn't facility in either NV or AMD/ATI drivers for dynamic resolution scaling in clone mode for differing monitor resolutions.

This display can take 720p (as my projector) and scale it down.

Well, i don't know the dimension of the display itself. but if it can handle 720 you can create a dual screen setup.
If the touchscreen is too small for navigation though the interface. I think you can to two things:

1. Get a bigger touchscreen
2. Edit the skins yourself by using the only basic things you need. Thats the beauty of open source: you can make it the way you want.

Yes, gues the problem is that the skin GFX is to small to navigate. I have seen several users with youre problem before.
Myself has several times had plans to buy a touchscreen for a laptop based HTPC in my car. If this will happend in the future, i going to make a touchscreen interface skin, and i will promis i will share it with the community

An Alternative to the above.

Ensure your GPU can do true dual display extended desktop. this allows seperate resolutions and refresh rates.

Use the start on screen selection function from withn MP setup.

Ensure you have upto date Touchscreen drivers and config tools. LILLIPUT have good selection for all OS (Vista Xp and w2k)

Use the touchscreen config, ensure you use 'click on release' and 'auto right click'.

Enable the touchscreen for dual display and map to correct display with its config

Choose a suitable skin for MP that you find easy to use on your touchscreen

Drawback is the display cloned to the touchscreen is limited to its resolution and refresh.
