Country:  |  Card-priority for recording Started on: 2008-06-17 last update: 2008-06-17 Summary: I have two analog cards and one digital. Offcourse I rather watch digital instead of analog. I hate it when I'm watching a digital channel and a recording starts because the current channel I'm watching freezes (without warning).  I really, really wish I could set the general card priority AND a card priority for recording when watching a digital channel, so the card priority changes when I'm watching tv...or a popup to ask what you want. Description: A pop-up when watching tv and a recording is about to start should show up and have the following options: 1. Start planned recording with digital card and stop watching (digital) tv. 2. Start planned recording with analog card and continue watching (digital) tv. 3. Start planned recording and switch to channel of planned recording. 4. Don't start planned recording (of digital channel) and keep watching (digital) tv. (This would be optional and only very usefull when a channel is only digital, so there is no analog combined version of the channel or you don't have an analog card) I don't know if this is hard to program, but this would be truely fantastic in my opinion!

| MP Donator   | I would like to see a decision message also, and I think this has been requested before. It just seems that the priority (even though to me it seems that this cannot be a big issue) is too low besides other requests and bugs.... I also hate it when TV freezes all over sudden and you do not know what happens.... A 4th option would be: Switch to the recording channel and go on watchin TV... (because I only use one Tuner)  Cheers joystick

Country: | Just discovered that there is a new field in the table "Schedule" in TV server db, called "RecommendedCard". It is not in use normally - meaning there is no way settings this from inside MP. But I tried setting this manually to my preferred card, and it seem to work! So I suppose the devs have prepared for this functionality in the DB and TV-server already, but haven't got the time make it visible inside MP yet. But for me it solves it for the time being, because I have an advanced recording "Schedule every day at this time" that I have been having problems using the "wrong" card. I am aware of that this is no solution if you make an ad-hoc recording but if you have an advanced recording it is not that much work to go into the DB (using SQL Express Mgmt Studio or the like) to set your preferred card. This is how to do it: 1. Schedule an advanced recording. 2. Open the table "cards" in the DB and check which ID your preferred card has, make a note of it. 3. Open the table "schedule" and set the ID obtained in point 2 in the field "recommendedcard", default it is "-1". 4. Wait for TV-server to grab your card! Just wanted you to know...
