Different ways of keeping your shows.

I would like to know what we currently have integrated into MP and then would like to request some other options in saving shows.

I know I can set a minimum limit on the amount of disk space I have on the drive. At that point I would think that the first show recorded would be the first show to be removed. I would think this would go by date an time.

Features I would like to see would be and option to disregard any option to remove the show. Lets say I recorded Victoria’s secret fashion show for my wife (to the left) and she NEVER wants it to be deleted. It would be nice to have a check box for that show saying (This show will never be deleted)

I would also like to see an option under where you set up your shows and series. Lets say your recording reruns of a show, you have seen most of them but you want to have a couple on hand for when you have nothing else to watch. When you set up your shows you can select how many shows you would like to keep in that series. I select 2 and at any given time I would have 2 shows available. When another show is set to record the very first show is automatically deleted.

Another option would be set a period of time before the show is automatically deleted. The above example would pretty much do the same thing but in a different fashion. This option you could set EVERY show to expire within 30 days or select groups or single shows to be removed after so long.

I would also like to see somewhere how much record time I have left. This will let me know if I need to remove some shows manualy or not.

I am just brainstorming here... so anyone one else has any other idea's.. post em here.

I don't like recordings being deleted automatically, that's why I disabled this option and need to delete manually.
If I could set some parameters for recordings I want to keep, that would be great.

I think you can do some of your wishes rigth now.
In advanced recording there are some advanced delete options.
But I don't know if they do correspont with the "delete oldest recordings when space is needed" within the Setup?

Nice idea, but in this case also a show that I haven't watched would be deleted.
Maybe this feature could be used in addition to the option "only delete if watched".

Right now I'm using the myStatus Plugin to get an overview about my hdd space.
But we where already talking about this and mofux said he will take a look into that:
plugin to show HDD space left(in hours?)
