Freesat EPG

Looking at this thread on Digital spy (Freesat EPG parser beta 1 - Freesat - Digital Spy Forums) it seems that the Freesat EPG is being delivered over ITV HD and Brit Shorts transponder every minute or so, giving full 7 day EPG for the entire freesat channel list.

I'm not skilled enough to add DVB-S EPG grabbing in the UK from Freesat, but I thought I'd see if any developers/other members have the time/inclination to take this on. I have some pretty big gaps in my EPG that I haven't been able to fill with any other xmltv grabber. The channels I'm missing are nothing special - but it would be a nice option for those of us in the UK to grab EPG data over DVB-S.

I did a test grab with the tool posted on the DigitalSpy forum, using DVBViewer & NetStream to save a telestream from the whole transponder and it worked perfectly - how to implement this into TV Server I have no idea

Hi, I doubt whether this will be added into MP1 as no new features are being added but according to the thread on DS you should be able to create a xmltv file that can be imported into MP. Better than nothing

You should provide this dump to some of the developers

It's a moification to the TS Writer that is required.

I am trying to add it as we speak.

I have a DVB-S Tuner my self and am able to grab the data myself. Thanks anywho

I have had a go at this today,

I have got the data just need to integrate the huffman decoding. Should have a test tommorow if anyone is interested.
