Default GUI Skin Editor

Ok this is not so much an improvement to the core of MP itself but definatley something that I feel should be looked at... I think it would be awesome if there were a tool for editing skins, something that could read the XML's then give a representation of how that XML would look inside MP, it would be neat to be able to resize buttons, apply predefined effects, move items etc... without the need to write any XML. Just open it up in the editor and adjust things graphically..
I think something like this would speed up skin development 100x and also would hopefully help bring new skins out and help to authors to keep their current ones updated.

This one you mean? http://www.team-mediaportal.com/file...ls/SkinEditor/

Unfortunately it's outdated and needs major updates. If someone's fancy doing so, be our guest.

Has development stopped on this editor now then ? I presume it doesn't include things like animations etc...
Will have to download and have a play later

The dev(s) who have been working on it, have lost interest, as it seems. Maybe because of the big word "XAML" which is hovering above our heads since... more than a year now, I guess.

Time will tell. Until then, it might be a good idea if someone could take care of the skin editor for the "classic" MP skin engine, as it is used now.

The editor for sure doesn't support animations or any of the new nifty features that came in during the last months.

Thanks for the info mPod, I would have a go at updating it myself if the source was around but I'm guessing its done in C and I'm only familiar with VB6/.Net at the moment
Hopefully someone will take on the challenge

It's done in C#. Sources are in SVN.
