Country: | I was wondering if there is any way to make the computer 'auto-boot' when a recording is scheduled?? I have a compro t300 and there is the ability to do it with this card and the 'compro schedluler' software, unfortunatly the software is dire and pretty much useless other than this feature (sorry compro) I'm not sure on the mechanics of how this would work without a card similar to this, but it would be a lovely compliment with the new tv engine. Oh by the way how is the automatic commercial removal going with the new tv engine? I recently tried the latest release of GBPVR and mythtv, one is excellent at the tv commercial removal and the other I set up and couldn't find more that 9 tv stations. make your own mind up which is which. Thanks for all the hard work, im sure i speak for millions when i say media portal is by far the most advanced HT software (open source and commercial) and i truely hope that its good looks and excelent interface lead it to great things for years to come. Thanks again Dubstar. |

Country: | MP already has this feature. It's not hardcoded to the switch like the Compro one, but instead uses the Windows scheduler which is able to wake from Hibernate, but not form a full ATX power off state (I think). Hibernate uses just as little power as ATX soft off though, so you should check this out. It's in the plugin section of MP config and is listed as powerscheduler. It should work quite well, but there is a bit that is dependant on your hardware so you may end up posting back here if you still have issues. Hope all goes well, Marcus. |

| Portal Member | G'day, PVR Scheduler is also a very good solution www.pvr-scheduler.de/ It requires a small donation but is well worth it. The scheduling functionality is (i believe, but don't quote me) a little more advanced and is designed to work with a few different applications. It does a great job of supporting MP and I know of quite a few people who all do the same. Cheers, Downzy |

Country: | Yes, I will give the "thumbs up" to PVR Scheduler too - it is excellent! Also, PVR Scheduler has the ability (if you are prepared to do a bit of BIOS research) to wake your PC from Shutdown mode - although most people use Standby or Hibernate, since the PC is ready to record quicker. |
