| Started on: 2007-01-10 last update: 2007-01-10 Summary: Asking whether the ability to ignore padding on Back to back recording on different channels on one tuner is possible Area: Description: Since MP 0.2.2 or later, we can now tell MP to ignore pre/post padding for back to back recording, this is a GODSEND feature and the single most important improvement among others IMHOThank you to the people involved in requesting, implementing and testing them. I am wondering if it is possible to expand this further, say I have one tuner that is serving 20 channels, when I have back to back recording between two channels, is it possible to ignore the paddings as well? At the moment, I have to manually set the pre/post to 0 to have them record. The ignore option only works on back to back recordings on one channel.

Country: | Not actually, it will give me two recordings without the padding which, unless either/both recording didn't start on time, is not something that is a problem. At the moment I would miss the start of the lower priority recording if they record anyway. BTW: Do conflicts record at all? I always adjust pre-post to avoid conflicts and have not had the chance to test it yet? |

Country: | Yeah, as soon the conflict is over (the high priority recording has finished) the second recording should start. You're lucky to live in a country where shows start in time though ![]() |

Country: | But only 4 channels Actually the providers mostly accomodate by setting the time longer than the programs actually are and then filling with ads, music videos etc. Programs usually start later than advertised but still fall short of the schedule. |

| This would be really useful when you dont know that a conflict is happening for a future recording, and instead of losing the first few minutes, it would be very useful if MP can then adjust the padding to be 0 so you dont lose anything. Cheers Edward
