Country: | I've been using cdTree 3.14 for cataloging my cd's for quite a while now. I've tried other software, but I think this is probably the easiest to use. I think it would be nice to have a plugin that would support searching of the .cd files that the program uses so I would be able to search for a certain tv episode or song from within MP and have is tell me which cd I need to put in. I don't know if this compatibility could be worked into an existing plugin or if one would have to be made specifically for it, but I would LOVE to see this. Thanks! cdTree 3.14 (current version) http://www.vbknowledgesolutions.com/ |

Country: | Other than having something like this application be used in the DVD plugin, where else to you suggest it could be used? I think incorporating this plugin would place added complexity into MP. But, actually some of these features have been talked about in the DVD plugin - where the DVD information is shown on the screen and then a prompting is made to insert disc #<xx> for Movie "<blah blah blah>" instead of the ripped movie residing on the hard disk. The other place where it could be used would be in Music, but with CD storage on hard disk via ripping, I can't see why this would be needed. Compressed music can be efficiently stored on hard disk. The only place where it possibly could be used would be in the area of pictures, but could it be effectively used there? After all, without the display of a picture, what use is there to describe the picture in text? Maybe you have been thinking of some other area I haven't described or thought of, and would like to talk about it in more detail. |

Country: | What I was actually thinking was for tv episodes, music videos, etc. I have 500 gigs on hard drive space on my htpc. Average, I guess. I just hate the fact that I have so many tv episodes at my disposal, but cannot view them all through the TV Series plugin properly. Honestly, what would be perfect for my situation would be a separate tab (as in the watched, unwatched, all sorting) saying something along the lines of external or stored. When you go into that tab it brings up another list of files (or tv episodes) that could be selected. When selected it would tell you which disc # to insert. To add to that, notes and images could even be stored the way that banners and episode descriptions that are stored with the tv series plugin. I'm not saying that this could only be placed into the tv series plugin either. I think if there were a separate tab of some sort in each of the media areas of MP it would help. As for music, I actually don't have any of my 120+ gigs or hard disks. Nor do I have any of my music videos stored on them. Both of these would be nice to catalog in some way. Thanks! |
