My pictures: More cross fade effects

Doing slide shows is one of our favourite modules.
But my kids allways demand: "Don´t use Mediaportal use this other program."

Why is that? Because they like a broad variety of cross fade effects between the pictures.

Don´t know if the existing effects are programmed by yourself and if this is hard to do.

I - as a non-programmer - could imagine the following solutions:

1.
Find a picture program that is open source and integrate the cross fade effects

2.
Use an external program in the background that fully integrates in mp for the slide show ( is fullscreen anyway). This must be a open source or freeware program.

3.
find someone who programs it.

What do you think about this? Any known open source picture programs?

I thought we were pretty cool allready with our transitions.
Most htpc programs don't even offer it.

But, tell us, what effects do you want?
fade we have allready, so you "just" want to have the Xfade?
Or you want 3d effects ?

current transitions r own made yes.

MP is pretty cool, true.

I meant all sort of transitions not only fade effects.

Maybe I find somewhere a list of transitions. But if you have ACDSee, it gives you an idea of what I mean. Or magix foto on cd.
