Default Option to have line-in muted during channel change...

Hey all,

This is my first time on the forum so excuse me if this is been suggested already. I have been playing around with MP for the last 2 weeks and have (after a lot of trouble with drivers) gotten my Hauppauge WinTV PCI to work reasonably well.

One thing though, that has bothered me about any program I have used (at least through this card) and the line-in connection for sound is that there is a clear blast of static for a moment, much louder than the normal sound, that comes through when changing channels. An option I would love to see would be to have the tuner's sound (what ever input happened to be selected for use by it) muted before the channel change, and unmuted once the user stopped changing channels. It might add a lag in the sound, but it would really help with the poping of the speakers on my stereo.

It would be nice if the video could be frozen while changing channels as well, there's a brief burst of visual static as well as the audio static when changing channels, and a quick mute/freeze frame would go a long way to improving the "feel" of the program when channel surfing.

I'll second this. It wouldn't be my number one item (direct access by channel number would be that) but muting the audio and blanking the video would be a nice aesthetic touch.

Great. I assume this will "appear" in a future general release?

Now if I can convince you to "fix" the direct channel access I can actually put this thing online :-)

I haven't tried it out yet, but can you disable this feature? I like the blast of noise from changing the channel.... lol
