Default Other handling of skip forward/back function of arrow key's

I would really like to see a other handling of the forward and back function of the arrow key's

Now you can only skip a head 15/30/45 sec 1/2/3/5/ect min but there is always wait time before it happens because people could push the next value

I really preferred the way XBMC was handling it whit instant skip 30sec right button 5 ore 10 min up button same for back, whit left & down buton it was way quicker then how its handled now.

It doesnt mean the system that is in now have to abandon, properly some peopel prefer it, i just dont like it my self.
Just that there would be a extra option in the setup menu where we maybe even can fill in our own skip times

Hope one of the dev's like the idea and got time to implement it

Would like to see this too.
Before MP i used VDR on Linux which had the following skip functions:
- left -> same as << key
- right -> same as >> key
- up -> +1 minute
- down -> -1 minute
I found this to be very intuitive.
Another great function i would like to have is a designated key after which a menu popups up where i can set the time to go.
So perhaps "01:30" goes to 90 minutes from start of the video.

Got to Setup-> Skip Steps and define what skip steps you would like to use.
If you just want 1min steps, you can define this, here.

You can even define the "waiting time" the Skip Step needs to perform its action.

This should work already.
No pop up is needed.
While wachting a video just enter 0130 on your remote and MP will jump to the point 01:30 (1hour and 30 mins).

Ralph

Yeah now this except skip wait time, but it would be great if you could have a different time for the other 2 key's.
And why not have custom value for all 4 of them that you can fill out your self

for me i would like
right = +30sec step
left = -15sec step
up = +5min step
down= - 2.5min step

whit this mix you can jump real quick were you wane go but others maybe don't like it so they can put up their own way

Its something i can live whit out but it is one of the most used options next to pause and play when looking at film & TV
And maybe this way its even better then it was on the XBMC (for me)

My 2 cents

Thanks Ralph,
was not aware of that.
Tried it and it works fine.
You just have to enter the position to go as four digits. e.g. "0100"
