Default Specify which plugin MP starts

Started on: 2007-09-28
Last update: 2007-09-28

Summary:
It should be possible to start MP with other plugins than Home.

Area:
Startup

Description:
I want to only show the Plugin "My Videos", and I therefore suggests that it should be possible to specify which plugin is started when MP starts. As it is now Homescreen is automatically started and it cannot be disabled.

Regards,
TMan

The closest you are gonna get to what u want is the "remember last active module ... " option.

(found in general settings-bottom section.)

It would be pretty easy to implement what u want, since the implementation of "remeber last active module" is not far away "code-wise" from what u want.

You can't disable the Home-plugin.

That might work for now (I'll check). Thx.

It'll be very useful for me to restrict MP to only start one plugin. It'll give less problems (for me!) when my kids/wife use MP...

U mean ..U dont want to give access to other any of the other plugins at all ??

U can disable each plugin as "NielsSF" previosuly said.
But U cant disable HOME screen.

If u disable all plugins except TVplugin, then your waf/kids can only choose one thing from the home menu.... "TV"

Regarding "remember last active module" ... It remeber fullscreen state on tvplugin. So if u hibernate MP while wathcing fullscreen, it will automatically resume fullscreen TV once u turn on your htpc again.
This should give the kids a fair chance

Also remember to activate "auto turn TV on when entering my TV" in television section in config.
Otherwise it wont auto-start TV on resume. It will only show u TVhome with no TV tuned.

If you only can choose one item from the menu then you don't actually have a choice.

(And if only one plugin is enabled then 5 identical items is shown in the home menu which doesn't look nice. See http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ho...en-t28717.html for my improvement suggestion on that one... )

TMan,
did you try this Autostart_fixed:
Process Plugin that autostarts Fullscreen TV after MediaPortal started. Instead of TV it also can autostart: EPG, Weather, CD/DVD or a Picture Slideshow.

Maby it helps a little? i do not know how it works, sorry
