Hi to all,

I saw a demo of MS MEDIA CENTER this week end and i saw a cool feature.

It's possible to search for a type of tv show and program its recording.

Is this allready possible ? If not is it possible to create this feature ?

it is in the ToDo for MP. The developers (especially frodo

) are looking for a nice way to implement this. So as frodo says: Screenshots and suggestions how it works would be very welcome.

Since the texts are short I can translate the buttons :

Screenshot one : Main tv program search options
---------------------------------------------------------
Left buttons (search types) :
RECHERCHER : search
CATEGORIES : categories ;-)
TITRE : title
MOTSCLES : Keywords

Right options :
I think its easy to understand, its the list of the tv program categories to choose from

Screenshot two : sub category search for film main category choice
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Screenshot three : Film search results for film/action catergory
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Left buttons :
Trier par date : order by date
Trier par nom : order by name

Right options :
Tv program list with date

Bottom text :
Tv program description with channel and time

If you validate the program the recording is programed

I chime in on this discussion:
I strongly agree with the need to create some sort of category searching for the PVR function if Media Portal is to really take hold. The key differentiation of SAGE TV (or Replay / Tivo) is the ability to categorize listings and search by multiple terms to look for what to record. I've installed and tested many of the HTPC front ends and PVR options out there and feel that if Media Portal could include this functionality it would make it on of the strongest and complete HTPC applications out there.

Just my thoughts.....

Well done for the tv program search !

Would it be possible just to add a keyword search with the virtual keyboard ?

and a NOW button to see a list of programs whats running now.

and

IMDB lookup for movies found, could also be done on teh GUIDE ofcourse.
Data does not have to be saved, unless you record it.
