Mp Tv-server to hard for noobies What i am trying to say is that mediaporta tv-server is way to hard to understand for regular computer users. For me it was hard to get it to work since i am in North America i had do do many things to get it to work correctly most of my problems got solved by reading forum posts. This shouldn't be like this you should be able to set it up with out having to check the forums for everything on how to get the EPG to how to make it so the channels get the correct channel numbers for NA users and many other things.I am not saying tv-server is bad its actually very good didn't think my PC could handle HD satellite channels with all the extra things in MP but it did it great with time shifting and EPG not like some other programs i have to turn off time shifting and EPG to get it to play smooth. But it would be great if it could be setup easier especially for normal computer users. Is there anyway that tv-server could install and setup the db by its self that would make one thing less for the user to do. Maybe even a step by step setup with good information on what your doing. Like do u want to use EPG and then you say yes and it asks you a bunch of things with text that explains what your doing. Then it goes to the next thing like say Time shift and it explains what you should put the settings to depending on what kind of computer you have things like that. I even told my friend to try out MP because how it runs and does everything, he downloaded it and few minutes later pm me and told me it sucks and that he would continue to use windows media center just because there where so many settings that he couldn't understand what to do.
I like the way MP2 is going thats good for the regular users and advance. Like when you go to my movies if you never went there before it asks you to setup your folders.
anyways i am just saying this so that maybe it could be improved on which could bring many new users that before tried it and looked way to hard to setup. Oh yea good work so far and thanks. |
