I have discovered an interesting issue with my setup that might prove useful to other users, and also provide a way of improving TV server.
I have two TV cards - a Pinnacle Dual DVB-T and a Hauppage HVR1300. When I scan DVB-T channels with the pinnacle tuners, two of the six muxes don't tune to the default mid-point frequency settings but to the upper frequency. However, the HVR1300 DVB-T locks onto the signal with the default frequency mid-points for all six. Now TV-Server only seems to store one set of tuning information for each DVB-T channel detected. If I set up the channels initially on the Pinnacle card and then scan channels with the HVR1300, I can no longer tune into some of these on the Pinnacle tuners due to the way TV-Server 'Updates' the channel tuning information. The converse is true if I do the last scan with the HVR-1300. The only workaround I can use is to do the last scan with the Twin Pinnacle card so that the channels all work fine with that, and manually deselect channels mapped to the HVR1300 that it can then not tune. This enables me to use all three DVB-T tuners for about half of the channels, but I am restricted to two tuners for the rest. This may be an issue unique to me, but if not, it would be a big improvement if there was an option to retain exact tuning information for each tuner+channel rather than just each channel across all tuners. I could perhaps then use the 'Combine Channels' feature to bring them back together in the EPG. Last edited by KevinM; 2008-05-01 at 18:31. |

Could you give a example of the same channel, but different tuning details, use screenshots if you like.
Weird

![]() Giving these tuning details for ITV1 :- ![]() When I scan channels with one of the Pinnacle Dual DVB-T cards I get :- ![]() and these tuning details :- ![]() I know that this is the fault of the Pinnacle card, but I imagine the possibility of the tuning frequency being slightly off is not that uncommon - otherwise why would MP scan the nominal frequency and then 167kHz below and above? Ok with you now.
Looks like the pinnacle drivers are showing the offset 167, which is used but normally hidden within the driver software for the TVCard, as hauppauge does. What a bummer, TVServer as it is, has no way of coping with this. Any pinnacle driver update ![]()
