Proper channel number support for NA users

Summary: The current level of support for NA style channel numbering, leaves something to be desired. There are numerous threads on the forums, by people who don't know what's going on when it comes to channel number support. A couple of changes would go a long way to making things easier on new users

Description: The option (in the client) to show channel numbers, should be made use of, by allowing the channel number column to be populated properly for NA users. A setting on TVE3 was added a while back, to add the SID to the channel name, when right clicking on the channels list. Would it not make more sense to instead have the same popup menu read & perform "Copy SID to Channel #"?

This would then properly number the channels, & as long as the "show channel numbers" option was on in the client, things would appear as a new NA user would expect in the EPG, provided they sorted the channels by channel number on the server.

Channel entry by # was added to the svns quite a while back, but it only allows channel entry while on the EPG. IcePickrg says he has added the ability to change channel by # also while in fullscreen TV. Could the devs please followup on trying to get this functionality added to the svns?

Agreed. This would be very nice to have.

Currently, everytime I re-scan my satellite channels, I have to go into the database manually and perform:

Code:

update tuningdetail set channelNumber = serviceID

Then I go into the mapping groups and sort by channel number so they show up in the Guide properly. Automating this functionality in the code would be so appreciated.

I would like to see this happen as well if possible.
I still don't understand how to change channels when in full screen.

maybe there could be a option in the scanning part where u can choose if your a NA user or other and if you choose NA it will auto number them in order right now when i add SID all the channels are not in order.
