Suggestion: Several "Users" same install

The ability to have several "users" under the same install

Description:
My suggestion have been discussed under the following 3 threads:

As most people in these threads talk about core enhancement, I thought I would bring it in here!

The abilty to have several users "logged in" so to speak at the same machine at the same time, could also be incorporated in some nice manner ( i hope :p )

Now to some tables I think should be usefull to be able to specify under every user. I will explain later why i think these fields should be incorporated.

(some of these sugestions can require changes in other plugins/parts of the program)

1: First & Last name (Seperate fields)
2: Display name (shown in MP)
3: Date of birth

I think that this DB should be stored centralized and could only be changed from the TV-Server.

Now to some exampels how this can be implimented, both in seperate plugins as descriped in other threads aswell as in MediaPortal.

1: My Movies
The seperate users in here can be implemented in such a way that you could specify allowed to watch from age <xx>.

This would mean that the script in some way figure out the age of the user logged in and then deny or grant acces to play the movie in question!
this could probably in someway be able to do this automaticly from the RSPG rating or similar.

Another feature in here is watched by.... and some abilty to have the program do an automated pick depending on witch users is currently set to watch on the machine in question. Perfect for a famly evening in front of the TV

2: My TV
The same options as above but for channel!
Another feature is for the recordings:
Say that i set a recording, and my girlfriend, find this recording also to be of intressent, neither of us can watch it when it airs, althou she bring up the recording menu and set the option "also by me" or something like that, and the program will NOT delete untill both of us have watched the recording. Together or seperatly (this with the option delete when watched activated)

3: My Series (Seperet Plugin)

X: Other
The user's can also be implimented in game plugins as a matter of keeping some kind of highscore.

The ablity to deny access to some plugins can also be a way of useing these eventually new features.


The possibilitys is endless, althou I realize that this most likly will require alot of re- programing I hope it's something that can be implimented in some form.

I belive and I hope many with me would realy gain from an aventual introduction of this functionallyty to an already SUPER GREAT software!!!

My own ablitys when it comes to programing is very limited but i'm very willing to assist in any way, shape or form...

I'll say too that if this is going to be a whole house implementation for me in the future, the ability to restrict my kids from questionable programming (tv/movies) is going to be a requirement.

Right now I don't think it's that big of a deal since I think Dev time should be focused on the overall process and such. This could be added later but I think it should be looked at so when the time comes, major programming changes are not required.
