I apologize in advance for being a newbie. I'm trying to install MediaProtal using an ATI HDTV Wonder. When I run the channel scan, all of my channels appear to be detected. However, when I try to view a channel in MyTV, I get a no signal detected error. Any thoughts? Log Below:

I had the same problem, and suspect anyone using the default graph definition in 'CaptureCardDefinitions.xml' does as well.

I just spent the last four or five days hacking my 'CaptureCardDefinitions.xml' up until eventually I found that this worked for me...

The 'Cyberlink MPEG Muxer' apparently does bind with MPEG2 demux without error.

The subtle trickery of the way the audio encoder automatically binds without further instruction in the definitions, is a mystery to me, but take my word that if I try to explicitly bind it in the card definitions file itself. It fails. And blocks the video binding as well.

So, just try replacing the card def chunk for ATI HDTV WONDER (ANALOGUE) in your 'CaptureCardDefinitions.xml' with the above.

Let me and others know if it works for you, too. I wonder if it's platform related or not.

The cyberlink mpeg muxer is a.k.a. 'MpgMux.ax' in your media portal root dir. It's installed and registered with media portal, so you should be good to go as far as that's concerned.

If this works for you too, you may find as I have that, while it does enable the tuner to stream into media portal under certain conditions, it ultimately reveals other more complex issues.

I've got four words for you... You are THE man! You have a lot more patience than I’ve got. The only thing that I needed to change in your capturecard definition was the devid. Mine was slightly different, so I copied my original devid into the definition you posted and bingo! I’ve still got a couple issues, but I’m much closer. It worked flawlessly the first time I got into MP after making your change. I then made the mistake of trying to look at a high-def station… After that things kind of went haywire. At this point I’ve got video with no audio. But I think that’s something I can figure out.

Thanx Paul - I thought I had it registered but who really knows (you'd think I do but you'd be wrong). I tried going back to a previous image and just installing things one at a time to see what works and nothing seems to work again. Just trying to get a bare minimum installed as alot of the ATI software is buggy and the less installed the better. Thought I knew what to do but now I have to regroup. I do have an image where the video works after installing the CaptureCard changes so I'll play with that first to see if I can get everything working. I'll get there eventually then update my thread with the steps in case it will help anyone else out. I'll edit this if the registration fixes the audio but I'm thinking it won't. I had audio but no video until I updated the card info which got me the video and lost the audio. Thanx again for the help. I haven't even done searches yet as I was just happy to get the channels scanning...

I had the audio issue after making the changes indicated by ibanks... But they went away and I'm not sure why. Seems like after a reboot (or two) my audio issues went away. I currently have MP set-up to use the "cyberlink audio decoder". (In the set-up program, select the television node and then the audio code). I don't quite understand yet what changing the audio/video codecs does, but I hesitate to change it now that it's working.

On a different note, I've gotten a couple of blue screens of death when entering My TV. Anyone else experiencing that one?

Don't blame you for not playing. I sort of had it working by changing around the decoders but the sound was choppy. One last change and I was right back to no video. I'll have to play with this later.
