Autotune will not work - Dvico DVB-T Dual on Windows XP x64

My first post to this forum - I've been struggling for days scouring forums and going through a process of elimination in getting my Dvico DVB-T Dual up and running on Windows XP x64 to no avail and now need help!

With a small change to the CaptureCardDefinitions file, as mentioned by Nighmare77, I was able to get both tuners recognized by MP. There were no errors, however autotune simply did not find any channels on either tuner despite Dvico FusionHDTV running perfectly and tuning in all channels.

The Dvico drivers install fine - I double-checked that the BDA drivers installed, which they did indeed. I've tried all driver releases from 3.2 onwards, 32bit and 64bit versions (removing the hardware and removing all traces of drivers between each one). FusionHDTV runs perfectly with all versions. I've also tried a complete re-install of Windows. I managed to get the patched version of psisdecd.dll to stick as well after much WFP hacking. So, all of the things that have been advised time and again on these forums have been tried, and I've now run out of options.

I found a version (2.0.0.6) of ScanChannelsBDA, which I tried on both tuners, but this too was unable to find any stations (I allowed it to scan through all Australian frequencies, with "nothing found" being the result on each one). Hence, it's probably safe to say that the problem is not with MP, but with the BDA drivers themselves. It's odd that FusionHDTV works just fine with these drivers, however anything outside of that, either MP or ScanChannelsBDA, does not seem to be able to tune in any channels despite them both "seeing" the tuners okay.

My next step is to try the plain old 32bit version of Windows XP but I would far prefer to stick with x64 if I can, so if there is any help out there I'll persevere!

Has anyone actually been able to get a DVB tuner (particularly the Dvico Dual) working in Windows XP x64? What did you do to get the BDA drivers working?

If you can help me get this working I'll be forever indebted to you (as will my wife who is now starting to ask all those questions like "I thought this was supposed to be easy to use???", and my workplace who is sure to start noticing my slowed productivity as my HTPC obsession reaches a record high....)

yeah sadly i could never get it working , you should actually find if you are running the fusion software and watching tv ,then try autotune in MP or scandba that it then will lock onto a frequency. I had this exact same situation, can never find anything unless fusion software was watching tv first, very odd, good luck with it tho, i would be keen to know if you figure it out

X64 and Mediaportal have always had problems, hopefully the new TVengine will overcome these.

Well, I've bitten the bullet and gone back to 32bit Windows XP, and aside from a few stability issues when using timeshifting (which I'll work through using the forums), its working a treat.

I guess it's still early days for 64 bit computing (at least at a consumer level).

I'd still like to keep this thread open, however, as I feel it's an important issue. Most new systems being sold now have 64bit CPUs, so 64bit computing will be a standard in the not too distant future (if it isn't already).
