Country: | Hi all, very new to Media Portal so not sure if this is a bug or i'm not doing something correctly! basically i'm trying to get media portal to work with my hauppauge HD S2 card for free to air HD (i.e. BBC HD) here in the uk. I've got the latest (as of yesterday) SVN and latest media portal. when running BBCHD it seems to have zoomed in on the top left quarter of the feed so it fills my screen with only a quarter of the picture - i.e. i have BBC HD spanning across the top of my hdtv! Does MP scale up the tv picture from PAL etc to desktop resolution and not detecting that its a feed of full resolution hd and shouldn't have this done? Or is it generaly buggy and i should wait for the next stable release before trying again? Thanks in advance. Dave Last edited by Pharcycle; 2007-11-12 at 20:57.. Reason: spelling and grammar! |

| What codec you are using? CoreAVC? If yes then please update to 1.6 version.

Country: | hi there, i bought and downloaded the latest coreavc codec and now i can't see anything full screen! It works fine in the mini-window though and at least its showing a complete feed (although miniturised) I've got 2x dvb tuners, a blackgold signature and the wintv hd s2. Haven't got media portal to play standard definition broadcasts full screen yet either and have tried some of the MPEG 2 codecs. Any recommendations here? Thanks tourettes for replying Last edited by Pharcycle; 2007-11-13 at 00:32.. |

Country: | Did you have CoreAVC prior to this quarter screen problem, as that was issue with earlier versions. If i use the hauppauge software at all, i get that happening for various channels anyway, i do not have that issue inside either Vista MCE or MediaPortal. Make sure you uninstall all the crappy software, only install the drivers for the card and the remote. Sorry biased on codec of choice nowadays and thats Cyberlink 7.3, do not get HD so cannot comment on that side of things, but would of thought a default MP codec should play most mpeg\ts files. SVN's vary greatly last really working one for DVB-T for me was 16361, also enable tsreader (may help with black screen), notepad, no message inside, save as usetsreader.txt and just drop that in your C:\ directory, done. |

Country: | hi all, just back from work... I had previously installed the K-Lite mega codec pack so i presume that has some kind of coreavc or equivalent however as i said i got the latest one yesterday and it didn't help. Incidently it wasn't using it before hand to play in superzoom mode but having read about coreavc am now quite keen to use it! Using the software that came with my DVB S2 card, Cyberlink Power Cinema (i think) it plays full res HD but the software is pretty rubbish in comparison to MP (in my opinion!). Also has some tearing of the top right of the screen sometimes. Its more or less a vanilla system and dedicated to be a HTPC so i can fairly easily re-install windows and start from scratch. Any suggestions regarding the mega codec pack (good/bad idea to have it prior to install of MP)? I've always had good results with it in the past (i.e. being able to play pretty much anything!). Also tried putting in the usetsreader.txt with nothing in it into my c:\ but only has the effect of not letting anything be displayed - not even turning the tv on.
