Default Crash on startup, even with clean install.

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0
MediaPortal Skin: bluetwo
Windows Version: xp sp2
CPU Type: athlon xp 3200+
HDD: maxtor 80gb
Memory: 512mb ddr
Motherboard: gigabyte 2004rz
Video Card: ati sapphire radeon 9550
Video Card Driver: latest ati (as of 6/6/07)
Sound Card: onboard
1. TV Card: hauppauge nova-t pci
1. TV Card Type: dvb-t
Remote: hauppauge remote

i've ran mediaportal before no probs but came round to using it again and it crashed out with the usual windows error box. I did a completely fresh install. the setup wizard ran, but then nothig works after this, mediaportal or setup. Looking at the logs it seems to suggest something to do with directinput. any advice?

ive also updated drivers, disabled the remote control etc.. nothing works. i always ge tthis exception in the log file after it crashes out. ive even run dxdiag and it reports no problems.

cheers in advance.

Well, I'm no expert - but I did read you log.

This appears four (!) times:
Quote:
WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].
So I'd try.... enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

Oh, and a note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Well... thats what I'd try, anyway... or you can wait for better (and more useful) help
