| Portal Member | I am now one step further in making my HVR-1300 work with Mediaportal using the S-video in. Everything works, I get the correct signal and the image is fine. However, the audio and video are completely out of sync (some 3 seconds difference), which I think are due to the MPEG-2 DXVA of the HVR. How can I disable DXVA for Mediaportal? I disabled DXVA in 'Primary.exe' which was installed together with the other Hauppauge software, but it's enabled again after Mediaportal has started. Anyone able to help me out? BTW, I need to mention that both audio & video are first sent to my AV-receiver, from where Audio is decoded by the receiver and the video is passed through to the TV-card. In other words, the solution 'just stick the audio into the TV-card too' isn't really a solution for me (also because the video of my game console is attached that way and while I don't mind watching TV a few seconds later after the signal enters, gaming is impossible with a few seconds delay...). |

Country: | Let me see if I understand correctly: You want to disable the hardware encoder in the HVR (I don't think this is referred to as DXVA)? This will make it operate like a HVR100, I guess. Many people have a hard time making the HVR110 work in MP, from what I've read... Anyway: I had lipsync issues (not as much as you) when using DXVA (decoding in gfx), but not when using software decoding wit MPV etc. I resolved this issue by switching over to TVE3. BTW: You really should (always) leave systemspecs (fill in template and/or "MY system" in "User CP" - and include logs!

| Portal Member | Spragleknas, Thx for the comments and clarification. You're absolutely right, he HVR-1300 has a hardware-MPEG2 encoder which I thought was DXVA. My bad... Still though, this makes the problem more difficult as it doesn't matter which decoder I select in the config (be it MPV, ffdshow or Intervideo NonCSS which are mostly used...), the problem remains the same. So in other words, my question would be: what's going on? I know I had the same problem at first with Hauppauge's WinTV program, but his was fixed by activating LivePreview in my registry. Would it help if I installed TVE3 on my pc? What would I gain by doing so? |

| Portal Member | OK, TVE3 is now installed and working correctly, but unfortunately the problem remains. I have found out however that timeshifting is enabled when starting MyTV, as it says '(timeshifting on)' when I select channel 'SVHS #1 on 2'. Could it be that timeshifting is the cause of the delay and if so, how can I disable it? I see in the TVE3 config that I can reduce the size of the timeshift-files, but I can't seem to disable it. Any suggestions? |

| Portal Member | Ok, Let me try and kickstart this thread once again. So, I had TVE3 installed, but considering the fact that it changed nothing, uninstalled it again. I've bought a new videocard with HW-support (HD 2600PRO), which does seem to enhance the image (de-interlacing is clearly done by it, as well as other things). Nonetheless, the audio/video sync issue remains in Mediaportal. To make things clear BTW, I don't have the problem with audio and video further moving astray, which I have read before. Video is simply legging behind a few seconds. The problem doesn't arise in WinTV, which makes it more odd. I've tried to figure out what decoder WinTV is using, but I can't seem to find it (Hauppauge say they use the Intervideo decoder, but they don't, as WinTV still works fine with the Intervideo decoder uninstalled). I've tried every video-decoder I could use in Mediaportal, but nothing works. Yet I remain hopeful. Is there anyone who could give me any suggestion?! I'm willing to try anything... |
