Country: | Dodge Hi mate. Now before I start please don't think I am trying to be rude! ![]() I run MP on a 1.8GHz Celeron so it's not your processor. I have 1GB RAM so it's not that. I have an ATI 9100IGP onboard graphics card (so it's not that). Now the bad side of things... 1. It could possibly be that your not using the latest graphics card drivers? I used the ones that came witht he system and the lag was really bad. Have you downloaded the latest drivers for your card? Now the bit you might think is rude ![]() 2. Your using a PC Chips mainboard. This is probably not the best plan! I have had terrible problems with lag on these boards in the past even just running a straight copy of windows and say office. The boards themselves seem to bottle neck big time. So I would possibly look at replacement, say ASUS or if you can't afford that then go for a cheaper alternative say ASROCK which is another ASUS company. You can get both types at say microdirect if your in the uk, don't know where outside of the UK. I would try the video card drivers 1st before shelling out any cash! Cheers Yogiman! |

Are you saying that MediaPortal works fine when you just use your PC monitor, but only when you output to the TV display (cheap emerson 20 wide screen flat crt), then the video is "slow" ? What does this mean "svideo & head phone to rca converter to rca rtd206 home theater" ? What connection do you use to your PC monitor - is it normal VGA? What do you mean by "video is so slow"? Is it jerky - drops frames? Could you please be more descriptive? | |

Country: | Hi You haven't made it clear but I think you are trying to run mediaportal on a secondary display. ie windows start bar on your monitor and mediaportal on the other. If this is the case then that is you problem. Mediaportal must be run on the primary display! If not then sorry can't help. Loxton |

Country: | Hi there, I think I might be suffering the same problem as you. I installed mediaportal on a basic laptop (2GHz P4 with 504MB RAM) and it seems to be pretty responsive as you would hope for. I then bought a TV card and Hauppauge DVB-T card and installed the lot on a desktop (2GHz P4 with 1.3GB RAM) but even just on the monitor (before I set up the TV connection) there is a 3-5second delay on all the menu items in mediaportal (that is apart from the first main menu). The other thing I find wierd is, once I eventually manage to get to the TV channel I want, the picture is showing only about 1 frame per sec. But as soon as I select full screen mode it plays perfectly - leading me to think it's a mediaportal issue. I've just done a full rebuild and it's still the same. Does this sound the same problem as yours? If so perhaps we can keep in touch and let each other know if we finally find a solution. I'm dying to get it working, and it's so frustrating being so close and yet so far with this unusable time lag. Good luck ![]() |

Country: | Hi You guys really need to publish a full hardware specification and list exactly what driver versions you are using. This sounds like an DX overlay problem in your case. Cheers yogiman! "Don't Quote Me I Could Be Wrong, According To My Wife I Always Am" |
