I guess we could but automatic skipping On/Off on the context menu while watching a file ...

I'll look into it once I clear some of the other projects off my TODO list.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I think this would be really useful.

I'm just getting ComSkip working and I think a context menu on/off would mean you can just skip back to where you left off if/when ComSkip puts in some weird chapters on shorter recordings.

Thanks and-81, you're a bit of a legend!

This is a feature I'd love to see.

Also would be nice to have a color-highlight in the timebar, what comskip has selected for skipping. So if something looks not right, just disable the autoskip over context and have a closer look...

Not a must-have, but a nice-to-have feature for me :-)

I can't say too much about where we are in the development cycle of MediaPortal, but it's simply not possible to add any new features right now ...

This should be a pretty minor thing to add, but I simply cannot introduce anything new until after MediaPortal is out of it's feature freeze. I can't say when that will be, but this is certainly on my Long-Term TO DO list.

Cheers,

Man am I glad a found this post. I could not get comskip to work for the life of me until I saw here, that it only works from My Videos. Works like a charm there.

Now I am waiting patiently for it to be "fixed" in My TV as that is where its really needed.

Thanks again for an outstanding piece of software...

in regards to some comments a few posts back, manual skipping did used to work from my TV, thats practicaly the only place I watch recordings from and it used to work but now it only works automatically (from my TV, can't comment on the videos section). If the problem is that my TV can't see the .txt chapter file then how does the auto work (it is working automatically in 1.0.0.0 RC1)

Question

I have to agree with that last comment...

If I set the preference in MediaPortal to "Automatically Skip Commercials for Videos with Comskip data available", ads are automatically skipped when playing from "TV Recordings" OR "Videos".

Therefore it seems somewhat odd that I can't manually skip ads using the remote when watching TV Recordings (as I can do when watching videos.

I'd love for this to be fixed!

I tried it as well and it works like you say in that auto skipping does indeed work. So for now I will leave it on auto and skip back when there is an error with the comskips detection. would be very nice to have manual working....

Thanks to the key-mapping described in this thread I'm now able to do commercial skipping when playing via My Video. I have enabled commercial auto-skip (which does work through My Video) but it doesn't seem to be taking affect via TV Recordings. Anyone have any ideas? Just for the record, I'm using the latest RC and a server/client configuration.

It's the client/server setup that stops it working in "TV Recordings".
