Hi,

When I add a movie folder to mediaportal using the mediaportal configuration tool, it works the first time I open mediaportal => I can see the shares, but when I restart the pc and than open the mediaportal configuration tool, the added movie folders aren't there anymore. So I have to add them each time when I restart my pc, it seems as if media portal doesn't save the changes I make. What can I do about this?

Thanks!

Are these on the same pc's hard drive or a network.

They are on a network (static ip's).

Are pictures and music also on the same remote computre (or drive) as your movie collection?

I'm not sure why you mention Static IP. To my knowledge, WAN files cannot be use (only local or LAN files may be use by MP).

Hmmz, I don't know why you are talking about WAN. The files are on my LAN. I mentioned the static ip because I thought it could be that with dynamic ip's the program didn't know how to save the location, since the ip changes everytime. But since it works with domainnames it's prolly no difference.

So to be clear, the movie files or music files or pictures are stored on another pc in my LAN. I want to add them to mediaportal as shares. When I add them using the configuration tool and I open mediaportal I can see the shares. The next time I start mediaportal (after I've shutdown and restarted my pc for example) the shares aren't there anymore, so if I want them I have to add them each time I use mediaportal. Maybe I should directly edit the config files myself or something...

How do you add the newtork drives to be scanned by MP?

Mapped drives (I: etc) or UNC patch (\\server\multimedia\movies\etc)?

I add it like UNC path (\\home\movies)
But even if I add a normal folder, it doesn't save it...
Is there another way instead of using the mediaportal configuration tool to add shares?
