Country: | Short Summary: I have an Asus TV 7133/4 (PAL) card, with the correct drivers installed. The card works perfectly fine with ChrisTV. However with MediaPortal RC1 Refresh I have the following problems: 1: When I try to search for channels it doesn't find any 2: When I add a channel manual, map to to my TV card, when I start MediaPortal TV Mode it gives an error "Unable to start timeshifting. Unkown error occured" TV-Server Version: 0.9.1.18808 MediaPortal Version: 0.9.1.18808 (RC1 Refresh) MediaPortal Skin: default Windows Version: Windows XP Home SP2 CPU Type: Intel P4 2.6GHz HDD: 80GB (40GB free) Memory: 512MB DDR Motherboard: MS-6577 Motherboard Chipset: Intel i845GE Motherboard Bios: Phoenix Technoilogies, 3.26 Video Card: Ati 9200 Video Card Driver: 6.14.10.6614 (Cataclyst 6.11) Sound Card: - Sound Card AC3: - Sound Card Driver: 5.10.0.6203 1. TV Card: Asus TV 7134 1. TV Card Type: PCI - Analog (Cable) 1. TV Card Driver: 2.3.0.3 (27-8-2002) MPEG2 Video Codec: MPV Decoder Filter MPEG2 Audio Codec: MPA Decoder Filter Satelite/CableTV Provider: Casema / Netherlands (PAL) I also ran Filmerit and this reported no problem (which makes sense considering the card work with ChrisTV Lite), but I attached the logs anyways. I used the default installations options for MP RC 1 Refresh. What could it be, is it a bug ... have I missed something (I read the manual but didn't find anything applicable to my situation - considering the channels are assumed to be detectable once the card is working in the manual)? If I can supply more information, please let me know. |

Country: | I think you might be right, because in the TV.log file I see reoccurring lines like: [tv.log] AddTvAudioFilter succeeded:ASUS TV7134 TVAudio analog: AddTvCaptureFilter try:ASUS TV7134 WDM Video Capture 0 analog: AddTvCaptureFilter connected to crossbar successfully analog: FindCapturePin on capture filter analog: AddTvEncoderFilter no encoder devices found analog: AddTvEncoderFilter no encoder devices found [/tv.log] In the error.log I see: [error.log] 2008-04-19 20:50:18.893092 [9]: Exception :No audio compressor filter found 2008-04-19 20:50:18.893092 [9]: site :Void BuildGraph() 2008-04-19 20:50:18.893092 [9]: source :TVLibrary 2008-04-19 20:50:18.893092 [9]: stacktrace: at TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.TvCardAnalog.Buil dGraph() at TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.TvCardAnalog.Tune (Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel) at TvService.CardTuner.Tune(User& user, IChannel channel, Int32 idChannel) [/error.log] But I am not able to select a different codec in the MediaPortal Configuration tool - even though I think I have several installed. I can only select the MPV Codec. I'll see if I can browse the forums for this problem then, but I was sort of expecting Mediaportal RC1 to work out of the box ![]() Btw, it's odd the logs were not added autopmatically because I do have the TV server installed Perhaps the test tool looks in the wrong directory? Thank you, following the steps in that howto (ie installing intervideo codecs) I managed to get the autoscan for channels working. However since that required registration, I also tried the freely available K-Lite Codec Pack Full. It also seems to do the trick nicely. I was wrong in the assumption that the MPV and MPA codecs that come with MediaPortal were generic codecs that would work in any scenario. Perhaps this should be communicated better in the help for that specific tab (at the moment there is no help whatsoever) and perhaps even made part of the installation wizzard (one click install right?) PS: for anyone reading this thread in search for drivres for the Asus TV 7133 or 7134 TV card: look at the Asus Support Site and search for "TV". That will give you a link with all the drivers for all their TV cards. Last edited by mystuff; 2008-04-19 at 21:19. Reason: added driver URL's | |

| Portal Tester | Hi, Usually encoding it's done by tuner card & not software driven(even if manufacture like to do it the cheep way), and because of this you have to find a encoder & not decoder which MPV & MPA is. Well thats life & if it been up to me all SW cards should be banned, but luckily i'm not in charge of that ![]() Regards Roy |

Country: | Hi Mystuff, It was promissing to read your solution. I've got a ASUS 7134 too. The channels are found with the Asus EzVCR.FM program, coming with the TV card, so that tells me the card is working. I installed the available K-Lite Codec Pack Full. But still it doesn't work when I went to the TV server Config. NO channels are found at all. I installed the latest MediaPortal /TV Server SW. Can you telle me if you only installed the available K-Lite Codec Pack Full and then it worked automatically? or did you had to modify/change things? Can you describe me all the details, when possible? I'm pretty lost! Thanks from a Dutchman in Germany! |

| Pancho 1005 Are you still reading this, or did you give up or even died trying to solve it :-) I love the mediaportal concepts (client server, multiple tuner cards etc), still a lot of work to make it perfect, but he, its a hobby. I now use harddisk recorders but hope to kick them out and replace it with MP soon. But bottom line is : you and I bought cheap hardware stuff and now we pay the price for that :-) Perhaps I can help somewhat with it. Same here with a Asus P7131 hybrid (FM/Analog/DVB-T), took me some time, but got it to work somewhat. K-Lite Codec Pack Full does not do the trick for me either. I got Intervideo WINDVR 3 from CNET (old stuff : 2003) WinDVR - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com This is a 30 day trial version. No idea yet what the limits are ( e.g. 5 minutes encoding limited or what ? ) nor what will happen with the drivers after 30 days. If you can find that somewhere, let me know ! Worst case we pay the guys of Intervideo $80. (Who said the cards were cheap ? :-))) Problem solved (for me for 29 days to go I guess), and found a new problem ! Now I see in the log files that it scans wrong frequencies (e.g. 123.25 where my cable guys have a channel on 123.00) so it does not find all channels, nor does it fine tune corectly. I select my own country and both cable/antenne no difference. Any idea how I can change that ? Tip for MP developers : It took me as stupid novice a lot of time to even find what was wrong. When I clicked on the analog tuner, my server config did not give any error message on screen but hung very strangly (some normal things worked, other not) and yes finally I found in the logging what was wrong : - ) This made MP look unreliable, not a good impression, but I decided not to give up. Others may have. If you have time left and nothing else to do, please look in the error handling here ? : - ) Even something like : "tuner error, check the log" would have helped me as novice a lot. Still, love your work ! |
