OK, I've had a look through your logs and not found any single thing that stands out, but there are a lot of smaller issues that aren't helping.

For one, your Quartz dll is outdated but there are also lots of other issues showing.

What I would recommend is to uninstall MP. rename the MP folder (just as a back up) then reinstall MP as a totally new install.
You should also install the newest Quartz dll (search the wiki page, there is a link and details in there) before you do the re-install.

Then if all works ok, you can begin copying back your existing plug ins one (or two) at a time and test each time to see if the issue comes back.

If this doesn't work, post again with new logs and we'll keep trying ;-)

Great name, too :p

fixed

Hi fellow "Roman God of War" - well thats what I was told at the weekend that our name means !

Thanks for the reply. Very early this morning I actually went for a full remove and install where as previously I didnt take the option of removing all (registry entries database etc) and had the same error. So bit by bit I re installed and configured and now all seems fine. The ' Fix ' or maybe just coincidence was not to configure the weather for my location until everything else was done. Have re built all movie and music databases ran mp all fine, closed it went into config utility and set up my weather location and hey presto all is well????

Just a few minor tweaks to do and then onto setting up tv as I have never used this before.

I have attached logs of my current working install and would appreciate a quick scan through as I have seen posts about quartz but do not understand it!! Also be keen to know if the other minor issues still exist.

Perhaps the developers of this fine product should introduce something in the installer that completely removes mp without the option to retain the registry hooks etc etc and have a side option for backing up the database?? Or does this already exist and I just have not seen it?

Once again thanks for your help, was starting to get paranoid as none of my recent calls for help had been answered.

hey there, sorry for the delay. I lost track of this thread.
I don't see anything bad in the new logs.

Also, quartz.dll is an MS file that ties in with directshow. old versions may cause issues with displaying video.

And yep, our name comes from Mars, the god of war. Don't mess with us
