Default new media portal machine

I am currently using myth tv. I am interested in switching over to media portal. I currently have an airstar hd5000 card and a hauppage pvr 150. Can I run this on windows xp or do I need media center edition. I saw in the requirements that I need media center edition for 2 dvb tuner cards. Since the hauppage is not dvb can I run a regular xp.

For Windows MCE you won't need a dvb tuner card.
You will defenately be able to run MP with your tv-cards. You processor, ram and videocard are important to. What do you have?

So I won't need windows mce? I have an amd athlon 64 3200+ (I am not 100% on the ghz), nvida 6700(again not sure of the model), 1 gb ram and 250 gb hard drive. What do you think?

Just to echo what Ynot said,

I've got an AthlonXP 3200+, 512mb ram running two tv cards. So you'll be fine.

I've had MP running on a 1Ghz PIII with 512MB RAM and a 32MB videocard. It was kind of slow, but it worked!
Now I'm also using a Athlon64 3200+ with 2GB RAM an 256MB X800 GTO2 videocard. The videocard is actualy a bit over the top. A nForce 6200 and faster will do. For HD video you'll need a more capable grapics card like your 6700.

1 GB is enough to be able to run the TV-server3, MP and www.orb.com at the same time. My HTPC machine uses 1080MB when using these three at the same time. For MP only 512MB should be enough.
