Have you tried running MP Configuration without the DVB card installed? Have you been able to run the setup wizard (I think that's what it is called), that runs when you first do a new install? How come you were able to select the LeadTek decoders, if you have not been able to run Configuration? I suggest you keep these as the MP default until you get it all working correctly. Have you tried installing RC3 again to see if it still works? I am fast running out of suggestions.... :? | ||

| Hey Taipan! Hope your not a snake?('') Yes I uninstalled MP first, then the folder. No, I have not tried to start MP w/o the card installed...Do I have ta (') Yes, I can run the setup wizard on 1st startup and can go through the whole process. By the way....I can start and use MP! I think you got the impression I can't get it going....sorry (' ') Must be a blonde day! Hmmm a blonde Bear? Anyway, I CAN use MP, I just CAN'T get Config.exe to work at all!! Hence I'm very limited to what I can & cannot change.Yes, RC3 config.exe worked fine before. I just wanted RC4 ('') Help! I have already forgotten the "Crows" back to back Flags! haven't you?

| Thanks Sam, I had already looked at that thread. Their prob is slightly different but similar, if that makes any sense? Did what I could from it but to no avail ('') Cheers, Yogi.

| For all you guys trying to start RC4's Configuration.exe and getting nowhere just like me, I finally found the problem! with MY setup anyway! I had a look at the config.exe log file to see how far MP got before it went into exception mode & shut down. In MY case, it got as far as loading the DVD codec's......well, it started to then Whammo! rest of the log file was blank. So I got to thinking there must be a broken or corrupt Mpeg2 codec in my system somewhere, right?? I then ran Sherlock to see what all the fuss was about but nothing showed up as being "broken", not working or otherwise. Hmmm. Not happy with "Sherlock Holmes" and his sloppy detective work, I thought I would do some of my own detection! I installed the K-Lite codec pack..... (BOY, I CAN HEAR THE ROAR FROM THE MASSES ALL THE WAY DOWN UNDER...!!!) Relax, I didn't really install it....just the "Detect & Fix" codec options at the bottom! 8) Well, bugger me! It found 15 broken, corrupt, part installed or otherwise non working codec’s! So obviously I selected to remove them, re-booted and then re-installed MP RC4........PRESTO!! ![]() Configuration.exe starts up and works like a charm. That's MY problem solved and I HOPE this process will help some of you other MP users too!  Cheers, Yogi.

Country: | That's why installing divx and xvid codecs only is a good idea. But then you install powerdvd/windvd, more codecs. And finally roxio/nero and another bunch of codecs. But usually these mainstream ones are ok, and do not give any problems. After that lot what other codecs would you want. 8) |
