Default (small) problem setting up my music

I've arranged mymusic in folders - 1 folder pr CD... When i enter the folder, MP insist on displaying the artist as well (presumably from the mp3-tag) - how do i avoid this?? I just want it to display "01 - Minor Intrusion" and not "01 - Charles Mingus - Minor Intrusion" because i already know what artist i'm listening to... Is it possible to make this setting pr folder - for those folders with various artists the present setting is good...

Thx for the effort with this prog!!!

...never thought I would advertise MP around that much, so soon...
(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...)

Not enough, i guess... Still miss the ability to set exceptions for individual folders, where i would like to have the artist displayed as well... But this is very nice....

Thx for the help...

Still have this problem - i correct it in configuration, but it doesn't reflect in media portal... And when i open configuration again the changes i've made is gone - it reverts to the old (annoying) settings...

How do i set it up, so media portal by default sorts all mp3's but track number, and only displays track & title - not artist???

In media portal i can enter the individual music folde and correct, sometimes it sticks, and sometimes not... This is really getting quite annoying....

Thx...

ok, you should do the following in Configuration.

1. Music Sort: Select Sorting Mode -> Name
change to: [%track%. ][%title%]

2. Music Views: Select View -> Artists
Change:
artist -> List
album -> Icons or List again
title -> List

press save

When you now enter MyMusic you see:
Artist as a list, the album as icon and then the Track + Title as a list.

The above implies, that you have correct tagging of your MP3.
If this is not the case, then you should use the Share view and do the following:

1. Music Sort: Select Sorting Mode -> Filename
change to: [%filename%]

In MP choose the Shares view and sort by File.
This shows then the filename instead of reading the Tag.

You indicated that when entering Configuartion again, your changes are lost.
This shouldn't be the case.
Monitor, if the file mediaportal.xml in the MP directory gets changed.
after leaving Configuration, open this file with an editor and search for:
<section name="mymusic">

after that line you should see your changes.
If not, please post your mediaportal.log
