Default subtitle/audio splitting?

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0 (current release)
Windows Version: XP Home SP2
CPU Type: Core Duo T2400 (1.86GHz)
HDD: 100GB 5400RPM + 2x 300GB USB
Memory: 1024MB DDR2
Motherboard: n/a
Motherboard Chipset: Intel
Motherboard Bios: n/a
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce7600GO 512MB
Video Card Driver: n/a
Sound Card: n/a
Sound Card AC3: n/a
Sound Card Driver: n/a
MPEG2 Video Codec: MPV (default)
MPEG2 Audio Codec: MPV (default)
Cooling:
Power Supply:
Remote: Microsoft V2 MCE remote
TV: Sony KDS60A2000
TV - HTPC Connection: DVI-HDMI adapter cable

From a little searching of the info base here I've found I need the Haali Media Splitter to switch audio streams in Media Portal, and that once it's installed, there should be nothing to configure in MP, I just use the red or green buttons on my MCE remote to change the stream. But...question!

What about subtitles? I watch a lot of videos, the ones with soft-subs use a container like .ogg or .mkv and some have multiple sub option (TS & SRT) & some have multiple audio streams. Is there an easy way that, using just the MCE remote I have, I can switch between subs or turn them off, & switch between audio streams?

Also, one other problem I just realized. My Microsoft MCE remote doesn't, er, have those colored buttons. In this case, which ones do I use?

Hi,

@Hildebrandt: Yes, please take a look into the FAQ. Download and install Haali, do not forget to tick "AVI" as supported format.

You can change the mappings of your remotes in Configure->Remote->MCE

The action is called NEXT_SUBTITLE or something like this, its usually on the yellow button (if you have coloured ones )

Flip.
