TV Server is installed on its own machine WinXP Machine (2 x Skystar2 cards using BA Driver and fix) with fixed IP Address in Small Business Server (10.0.0.5). Using SQL Servre 2005 Express for database. All has been working perfectly for the past few weeks. TV CLient is all working OK, in terms of viewing from TV Server. Today our area got hit by a bad storm which resulted in power cuts to our area. Since then (but due to?) the TV Server hasnt been able to scan any channels. Initially the client was giving "unable to start time shifting unable to start graph". Some times in the error log there was even prompts of unable to login with the sa account, but using SQL Enter Manager was all good. After trying all manner of fixes decided to blow the Mediaportal install away, delete the database and reinstall. No joy. All looks OK, cards show OK in TV Server but when you go to scan for channels you get the "No Signal" in red text returned. Strenght and Quality of Signal appear as they always have. In the error log it returns: 2008-07-30 15:11:47.249206 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:12:10.899114 [8]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:13:15.308037 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:16:20.320411 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:17:07.554687 [8]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:18:53.050816 [11]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:18:58.377168 [11]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:24:16.538317 [11]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:29:26.787625 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:30:51.210081 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:40:41.844231 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 2008-07-30 15:40:56.188532 [TVService]: ss2: Tuner Type failed:0x91000001 when ever I restart the service Ive attached TV Log as well. COuld the storm possily knocking the dish out of alignment cause these symptoms? (Dish looks OK) |

HOw is the best way to test that? The setup4PC from Technisat doesnt seem to pick the cards up since Im using the BDA driver (their driver). Has always been this way. Ive got ProgDVB installed, but its seeing the cards (Ive disabled one to try and fault find) but not giving anything in the display. PS In ProgDVB Im getting a Signal and Quality measure so Im thinking that the Cards are working and getting a Signal. Gut feeling is that the dish has been knocked out of alignment. Might get an installer to come out and check the alignment Last edited by thekiwi; 2008-07-30 at 10:12. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |

| Portal Member | As a bit of a last resort, you could try uninstalling the cards both software wise and physically and then reinstall just one and initially use the original driver rather than the BDA. Then use the manufacturers supplied software to check all is working. Repeat with the other card. If all good you then know the problem is with the PC and it would save getting someone on the roof. |
