Well you know that B2 is the main skin.
You use that skin.
You don't need the other skins.
In MP config there is no way to remove them (and save disk space or whatever). What do you do? Go in skin folder and delete every unused skin. Right?

Wrong.

This is a safe way to stop MP and config from loading.
It will instead ask you for the... download location of MediaPortal 0.2, which of course is nowhere to be found (as it is a temp folder) and when you cancel, you get a fatal error (duh... what was so fatal?).

Luckily I had a backup folder.

This sounds like Windows Installer kicking in, but AFAIK the MP team have stopped using that recently so you shouldn't have this problem with future releases.

BTW, Windows Installer kicks in because it has detected that someone/thing has tampered with the installation and it tries to fix it. If you have done this and don't have a backup folder and can't be bothered reinstalling it, just create NEW shortcuts to MediaPortal.exe and Configuration.exe and use them instead (the shortcuts created by the installer have special links to a Windows Installer integrity check).

(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...) Don't argue with the founder of Greek Off-Topic Community about taking a thread off-topic. I cannot help it! My webshots album (contains the old version of my HTPC setup too)
