Since the analogue part is (99% sure) SW-based it requires lots of CPU power. If I where you I'd rather get a PVR-150 (analogue HW-encoding) - or HVR-1300 (hybrid but w/HW-encoding).

Ufff,, yes It's SW-based. I looked at the shops and the price for one card is same as CPU, which I mentioned in previous post, and I need 2Cards....

Do you think that better CPU will not help with this?

Sure it helps. Not sure about the future of SW-based cards support in MP, though.... Perhaps you should ask a dev?

Anyway, if you go for the analogue PVR-150, then you (probably) can use the DVB-T at the same time, hence record one and watch another.

And considering the CPU power SW-cards hogs - this might decrease WAF due to noise

You choice .... Do both!

Default still chopped and sound is delayed

Just now get answer from one guy which have Core2Duo 6420. The working load of CPU in MP when u're playing analog TV is 30%(it's good news for me) but its still chopped and sound is delayed.

It has to be somewhere in codecs? Maybe in Decoders? or where?

Its strange that in Graphedit there is it normaly without chopped...

@Spragleknas - are you sure that you dont have shares in Hauppauge :-) It doesnt say much for MP that each time someone complains about using a SW encoding card you recommend a PVR 150. The problem lies somewhere within MP, there are many of us with SW encoding cards that work fine outside of MP, they do not use a lot of CPU (my computer sits around 35-45%).

The solution can be something other than new hardware, I have a pinnacle 300i, which is on the supported hardware list. Please remove it from this list as like all Hybrid SW encoding cards it is not supported by MP. For whatever reason MP does not support this type of card.

Nope (Seen My system - with this low cost rig, I think that rules me out as a person with lots of shares)
(If you want, I can even the scores by recommending your non working Pinnacle? :)

Hauppauge is generally recommended by many team-members. This was the reason I bought it myself. There are not to many HW-encoding cards, esp. found in many shops. The PVR-series is well known (strengths and weaknesses), and is the only HW-card that MP has quality settings for. I am not 100 %
saticfied with my PVR-150 (or the 350 I had) - but you can't expect DTV quality. I think there should be more settings for the hardware-encoder. This is now a registry puzzle.

Please bear in mind that MP uses more CPU than other apps., hence the "harsh requirement" for CPU.

I believe that many of the "working TV-cards" in wiki should be revisited. I'll take this up with the team.

PS: Leadtek does offer a analogue HW-card - but not hybrid. It is difficult to separate Leadtek's SW and HW based card as naming is quite simular.

just adding to Spragleknas's post.

You do a search on a manufacturers website, trying to find out what the card type actually is (HW or SW) no information.

You then try and find what encoders\decoders are supplied, they will not let you download unless you are on there registered list, of owners with serial no's etc.

So we totally rely on Devs\testers\Mods\users to give this information, which may only be accurate at that driver release.

Then we are at the mercy of software\codecs outside our domain, so if they screw up, everyone suffers.

This is not a excuse post, it is something that happens most of the time.

Problems, what problems

Thanks Spragleknas for clearing that up, i think we'll leave your offer of recommending the pinnacle for just now, it might generate too many support questions!

There is some interesting work being done here

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/pa...922#post221922

on how the TVserver sets up filters for analogue cards, one of the problems of the TVserver is that we cant tweak the filters as you can in basic mp with the capturecarddefinitions.xml file. Maybe misterd's work will prove fruitful and certainly i hope it is supported.

At least then i could fiddle with MP and blame myself for it not working
