Default video output

Hi!

I have been trying to get MediaPortal working, and im getting there slowly.. but when I installed I use a pc monitor next to my LCD screen.

my pc to LCD screen is HDMI cable and pc to monitor is DVI cable. but I never have seen any picture in LCD screen.

How do I change output so picture is on LCD so I can take monitor away now.

Thanks, DJ

Power down your PC first. Plug the LCD into the DVI port where you have the monitor before. You will need the DVI-HDMI adapter. Power up your PC and hopefully your LCD will become the default monitor.

If you have the video card setup for dual monitors you can go into the control panel and change the defult monitor

How do I get it to use the HDMI cable tho?

I have a Leadtech 8500GT this has DVI & HDMI out.

And a Sony Bravia 40" LCD which on the back has PC input (RGB) which works fine with a DVI adaptor but I cant adjust some settings while it is on the PC input channel.

It also has 2 HDMI inputs, seperate channels from PC and these are what I want it to use.

How do i set up dual screen?

In the display properties, you should be able to extend the display to your LCD or make the output the same as your monitor.

I don't have a Leadtek 8500GT with me but can you describe what do you see in the display panel.

In display there are 2 monitors,

1. My monitor
2. It says generic monitor. I can change this to the resolution of my LCD but I cannot get the picture to show up unless I use the DVI to RGB cable thru the PC input.

If I click show monitors or something then a big 1 flashes on monitor, but i cant get a 2 to flash on LCD

You need to enable the second display for your LCD to work. Do you see your LCD listed or a picture that looks like a LCD (it might say HDTV). Right-click on it and enable it. Please send snapshot of your display panel.

OK, I got it going now!

I was right-clicking desktop and goto personalize to change settings, but now there is an nvidia option when I right-click desktop and I can change it to HDMI easily from that menu.

Thanks for reply's.
