hi, with my new laptop i got one of this...



firstly only the direction and OK buttons worked.

after installing IR Server Suite i got the following:

WORKING:
-"back" button
-the volume
-the mute,
-channel change,
-"i" button,
-ff, rf
-green button
-stop

using translator to read the ir code...
NOT WORKING:
-play/pause ==> IR code: 31633
-middle three buttons on the top row of the remote.
- square ==> IR code: 31614
- loop symbol ==> IR code: 31615
- DVD button ==> IR code: 31707

how can i fix these buttons? any file i need to edit?

Inbuilt laptop IR + Mini hp remote:
just noticed that the DVD button logs this line in mediaportal.txt

the rest of the not working buttons do not log anything.

just tried using same inbuilt laptop IR receiver but with philips 5100 remote.
-play/pause logs this...

Are you using abstract layer ? If so there is some mapping missing. Try using the debug client to get the missing raw codes.

not to offend but i did understand nothing there haha

sorry but i am not very familiar with ir server suite.

i have tried to edit the mce.xml but did not work.

can u explain in a simpler way what u said there?

lets see if we can get this remote fully compatible with mp !!

ok from what i have been seeing i would only need to modify the IR code for the not working keys.

which file are they in? cant find it.

if i press a key and dont get the "beep" sound in mp is because its not mapped or because it does not recognize it?

i will try it now, but all my buttons are working but 3 so i thought that it was easier to change the ircode to the plugin that is already doing a good job.

so i guess its not as easy as changing the ir code for the playpause button?

Im not sure that I understand completely. But shouldn't you use the "teach" function in IR-server?

basically i want to know which files do i need to modify in order to change the IR code from the "mce remote" to my "hp mce remote" this way we could talk about integrating full support for these remotes and not just a fix for my personal use.

any idea which files are this?

the inbuild ir receiver of my laptop can get both philips mce remote commands as good as the hp remote, only problem is the IR code for 3 of the buttons.
