Can you get me some new log files from the latest version?

Also, make sure you shut down the TV Service when you install the TV3 blaster plugin. I'll have to do get the installer to do that automatically in future.

Cheers,

Cheers,
It's a Sony VAIO remote (RM-MC1).

Oh, and the MCE buttons still have their regular effect when the service is properly working (it opens MC, etc.) even if it's disabled in the Input Service configuration. However, when the service dies, so do the buttons cease to work.

It fixes it it if I unplug it/plug the receiver while the service is shut off (it doesn't do squat if the service is still running). However, the MC button (that opens MC) stops working regardless if the Input Service is running or not. The arrow keys on the remote work regardless whether the service is on or off though.

And, as for logs: when it stops working, nothing is printed into the log file. I was not able to produce that log yesterday because the server didn't die after a few minutes, but it finally died sometime today. Restarting the service shows the error though.

Hmmm

I'd say it's one of two things here:

1. There is some Sony software running that is accessing the device and interfering with Input Service.

or

2. The remote doesn't fit the MCE remote standard that Input Service expects.

I'm leaning towards 1. Have a look at the other processes running and see if you can find something that might be remote related.

Apart from that I don't know what else to suggest because I don't have one to try myself.

Does anyone else have a Sony VAIO remote?

This is not a Sony machine. The original machine that this came with ran XP MCE, but I'm using this on an entirely new Vista Ultimate system with no Sony drivers at all.

Ok, then the Sony device must require some sort of initialization that I'm not providing, or has a different interface to what I expect.

I'll see what I can find out, but without one to test with it's gunna be difficult... is there an XP system you could try it on in the meantime? Just to see if that works for me?

Default Blaster problem cont.

and-81, returned and tried again. Appeared to have 2 TV servers (sql & sqlexpress) so I tried to get rid of one which I did but all my setup and analogue STB channels were gone. (I am sure I closed the right database!) Anyway I rescanned channels, added 5 STB channels & completed the rest of the setup. TV server was definitely stopped when IR server suite was installed. Because Media centre would start every time I pushed the green button on the remote I stopped all eh* processes and changed the ehome directory name so that media centre can not run. (I see that I can disable it in IR server suite)
Now when I do quick setup and press the set button I don't get any blaster ports.
I hope some of this rambling makes sense to you.
Thanks, Fraser

The Input Service.log shows that it is not finding any IR Server Plugins (these provide the access to your IR device).

It sounds like Input Service didn't install properly, or you've moved a folder after the install.

Quite strange either way... maybe re-install IR Server Suite.

Try updating to the 1.0.4.2 preview.

Cheers,

Does this update fix the problem in the TV2 plugin for standalone MP where the 'test' function correctly changes your STB, but when you assign channels to your card blasting does not work any more? It's the only problem i have

see http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mc...tml#post231816

also, did you manage to get some hardware?

thx.

Cheers,
I think I have stuffed things up. When I click on TV3 blaster plugin to configure it in TVserver3 plugins I didn't get anything (just sat on previous display. I stopped tvservice, uninstalled IR server suite, reinstalled 1.0.4.2 , restarted tvservice, configured etc but same problem. I then did all this again with 1.0.4.1 but problem persists.

50chickens:

It should fix that problem. Give it a try and if it doesn't then let me know straight away.

I've had an offer of some second hand hardware, but I don't know when it will be available.

What I could really use is some of the different IR receivers that I don't have (Imon, IgorPlug, Tira, Hauppauge) ... But I've got plenty of other stuff to work on, so it doesn't stop me programming it just slows me down in developing those areas.

fwal:

Yep, sounds like something has gone very wrong. Uninstall the IR Server Suite. Delete it's program files\ folder and it's documents and settings\all users\ folder. Then close the TV Server and reinstall.

If you want to send me some more log files before that I might be able to figure out what went wrong.

Cheers,
