Default Last.fm - personalized radio streams in MediaPortal!

Hi music lovers

Since some people already discovered the new GUI plugin "My Last.fm radio" I think it is time for an official statement.

Although the engine with all functionality is almost finished and seems to run quite stable the current GUI is not yet finished completely.

Current status:

working streams:
  • Recommendation radio
  • Listen to MediaPortal's group radio
  • Tune into your tags
  • Listen to your friend's personal radio
  • Listen to your friend's loved tracks
  • Listen to your neighbour's radio
  • Your personal radio (subscriber's only)
  • Your loved tracks (subscriber's only)
working features:
  • Trayicon for song changes and important commands
  • Skip tracks (remote, next, context menu, tray menu)
  • Ban tracks
  • Love tracks
  • Copy IRC spam of current song to clipboard
  • Lookup track tags
  • Lookup artist cover
  • Lookup similar artists
  • Notify if stream could not be started
  • Config option to switch off profile submits
  • Switch to enable discovery mode (subscriber's only)

More to come..

CALL FOR HELP:
If someone has experience with intercepting HTTP streams, parsing and after that proxying them for playback - please drop me a line!

rtv - This sounds great! I was having problems with the plugin My MusicVideos and the author gregmac45 said he used the program URLSnooper2 to help him find the streams from Yahoo (where the plugin goes for the content). I've used that same tool (URLsnooper2) and it does help in finding the embedded streams. I'm not sure if this info will help.

I have some code in C# to intecept a MJPEG stream from Web Camera which is encapsulated in a HTTP stream. Maybe this can help ? I have to clean it but if you're interested it's yours.

Nice - didn't knew the tool. I've used ethereal to sniff the network activity of its own app. But these parts are finished now

Oh, if it does more than passing it to a Streamreader I'd be heavily interested!

I love it! Fantastic plugin.
I've ajusted the XML file for the PMIII skin

Download it from: http://www.kraak-forum.nl/remote/MyRadioLastFM.rar

Is it correct that selecting the genre is grayed out? And will there be an option to search for a stream based on a artist, like www.pandora.com does?

The genre works like the "(more stations)" link on the homepage - it displays up to 15 of the "tags" you assigned to Artists/Albums/Tracks.

There already is - I just need a decent way to do this via MP's GUI. If I do not get another idea I'll have to use the Virtual Keyboard which is e.g. used for MusicVideos as well..

I've updated the skinfile.

Why is it the "tags" and "friends" button are still grayed out? I still don't understand.
I have over 30.000 mp3 songs. I'm sure there is more then one tag in the database and more then one is played since I registred with Last.FM (hundreds probebly).
Do I completely misunderstand?
