| Portal Member | last time updated: 2007-07-31 I know, this is a total rip of the impressing design by infinityloop. I have made this to try to modify my previous menu attempt and use some of the really good stuff from i-loop's design. Hope this is ok but I guess this is the whole idea of this thread, to try to combine ideas and do someting new. The whole idea with this attempt is to keep the same look in all of the My TV interface. Same menu everywhere. The picture in the middle should be as like a remote as possible so that the navigation is self explained. All menu items have subtexts explaining what the item does. NAVIGATION * Navigation should be simple with a remote * this attempt uses the left, right, up and down buttons. OTHER COMMENTS * the idea for the icons for HD, 16:9 and so on is taken from the My TV Series plugin. * All screens should be available both as screens but also transparent with live tv in the background. If you watch TV and want to schedule a recording this could be done and you could still continue watching the show. This is why most attached images are one with blue background and one with live tv... The picture "alternative_navigation.jpg" show another way (instead of the up, down, right, left arrow picture) that the navigation could look like. Gives a good overview of available options in My TV. Not sure it will fit on sceen.... but a different approach to give ideas. Added a new menu alternative and also a picture showing a suggested help for the remote. The "remote help" is intended just at a non clickable picture that an user could bring up if new to MP. The second picture (alternative_navigation_2.jpg) with the round image in the middle is intended like this; * first you only see the round image. * if you like to watch/manage your scheduled recordings press left and ok, this brings you to the scheduling window. * if you know you want to create a new recording it is not necessary to go to the sceduling window but you can press left to move the navigation to "Schedulings", then press left again and a sub menu (like in the picture) opens with available sub menus. In this case chose "New Recordin". This is a way to shorten the number of clicks to go to most used functions i My TV. More will follow. Regards cul8er

Country: | could be done generaly by using a semi-transparent gfx between/around OSD-UserInterface and LiveTV

Country: | Isn't it better to just enter text using the number keys on the remote ? That is, the mobile phone way. Perhaps it's just my opinion but i find the QWERTY keyboards on screen to be rather cumbersome to use. And i bring up the keyboard if i need to type something more advanced. Though i guess that the option to us one wouldn't be bad. Just not that it would be the first choice. Edit: perhaps i should mention that i really like this skin idea. Everything that's related to tv should have a lightweight (transparent) GUI. I also like Inifityloops skin, both are on the right track imo. Last edited by Laban; 2007-08-01 at 11:07. |
