Default Winamp Visualisations. Finally :-)

I've just commited support for Winamp Visualisations.

Yes, you can run Milkdrop

Working nice, with just a few problems remaining:

- Cover Art fliping and Trackinfo overlay in Fullscreen is not working
Need to work on that, but most probably due to the way winamp plugins render, it'll be not possible

- Song Title not displayed by the Plugin

- Mouse Clicks and Keyboard input not working
I'm still working on it. The main mp window, steals my keyboard input

- Some plugins, like Animator 2 and Tripex 3, don't detect that the Play status
I have this working in a test app, so it's a matter of debugging

So how will it work.

Put the plugin files into:
<mp install dir>\Musicplayer\\plugins\visualizations

sub folders are ok. i have a subdir called "Sonique" and "Winamp" for separation.
They should appear then on Configuration and can be selected as any other vis type.

Over the next weeks, i'll try to sort out the remaining problems.

please let me know which plugins you found working and which are making problems.

thx,

Helmut

Thumbs up

Very happy to see that you're reaching results.
I've quickly tried latest SVN and copied from WinAmp Plugin vis_milk.dll, its folder and .ini files.
Started configuration.exe and the pluging has been shown.
Selecting it I've a warning from the plugin and, I think, a error message from configuration.exe (it's in you language) that can't be started.
So, until now, I've not really tested nothing.
Logs attached, thanks for you work.

EDIT: tried again with the dll linked below and works, works, works !
Everything as described !
I will try other plugs tomorrow !
Thank you so much Helmut !

Hi,

this is a great idea. I have managed to get some to work. But others like beatharness (winamp version) don't work. When selected in MP config, it says you must have music playing for the visualisation to work. Any ideas how to get round that?

Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Colin

But they should work, when you play them inside MP.
Funny, it seems i was only testing plugins not having this problem.

Seems i need to create some dummy music stream and send a play command to it, before starting render

Sorry, should have mentioned that previously.
For Milkdrop you need to get 1.05beta6, which is a fixed version compatible with Winamp 5.
grab it from here.
replace you vis_milk.dll and it'll work.

hwahrmann you are making some excellent progress with Music in Mediaportal, thank you so much. I can't wait to try out Milkdrop once I setup my house again (moved this weekend).

in a directory named "Milkdrop", which is in the same subfolder as the vis_milk.dll.

for example:
....\MusicPlayer\plugins\visualisations\Winamp\Milkdrop\*.milk
....\MusicPlayer\plugins\visualisations\Winamp\vis_milk.dll
