Default blasting to two seperate set top boxes with different codes

actually a question for gbpvr, not mediaportal

i have two seperate set top boxes, both with different remotes. Is there a way to set up a 2nd remote with the same channel numbers when i call it from gbpvr?

from gbpvr forums

Hi yall

using the config as per sig. Now, i have got a pace box to go with my motorola box for sky - however, i cant figure out how to make ir server suite allow two instances of remotes for the two boxes, and subsequently, gbpvr cannot send seperate codes to each box.

Basically i can just blast the motorola box codes, and the pace is in the dark.

Is there something i can add to the channel parameters to say, add a digit at the start of each channel press?

ie, i have the {channel} part, ideally i would like say, button 3 on my pace box to send 13 instead of 3, so i can program 13 into IR server suite for 3 on the pace remote... is this possible? that way i can just put a 1 ahead of all my pace box ir codes.

or will i have to ask the writer of ir server suite for a fix? googling doesnt help me, unfortunately.
Cheers
any help appreciated. thanks

Yes, you should be able to do this. At the moment IR Server Suite does not support directing blast commands to specific output devices, but it is a feature that is planned for the future.

So what you might find is that you will get both devices blasting at the same time (as long as the ir format is compatible between the two devices) If the blaster devices have "ports" then you could direct the blasting to different ports to target a device.

I hope that makes sense, I'm a little rushed for time at the moment so my writing is probably non-sense.

Hope that helps,

yeah, im sort of not following you - are you saying i could do this now? if so, how would i go about doing it, since gbpvr will just send a channel number request to the device, ie, it'll send 0, then 1, then 1 for channel 11 - how would i go about learning the two different codes for ir server for each remote, since i only appear to be able to programme each digit once? (ie, i can only learn an IR code for digit 0 once, so only one remote)

or am i completely missing the point, haha?

thanks

Hi I think I understand what you are trying.

But you must tell us what kind of remote and Receiver you are using. If it is a receiver with two blasting ports (like the MCE receiver) I think it should be possible.
